Eleven (11) years into their marriage, a man has suddenly discovered through a telephone Loyalty test that his four children from his wife belong to another man. The man, Magnus, had never had access to his wife’s but devised that strategy as a way to confirm the rumours he had been hearing about her unfaithfulness.

Loyalty Testing
SoniaOfficial presenter pretending to be giving away N500,000 gift to loyal couples asked husband and wife to exchange phones after asking whether they had ever cheated on each other. Both parties claimed that they were faithful but when the time to exchange phones arrived, she was fidgety.
First she claimed that her phone was private property. Her husband countered that he owns her intoto. Then she issued a veiled warning that they would have themselves to blame for anything they found. Undeterred, she was told to check her husband’s phone, she did and the expression I LOVE YOU was only found in a message her husband had sent to her.
When it was Magnus’ turn to check his wife’s WhatsApp, the same expression was found in a message from JOY. But who is Joy? According to her, Joy was her school mate of many years ago. How come her husband did not know this friend?
Pandora’s Box Opened
This Joy was not a lady. It is a cognomen or codename for the father of the four children she had for her husband. How?
Well, when the message was opened, Joy was professing love for the married woman and asking: “HOW ARE MY FOUR (4) KIDS?”
My Musings
This story raises several relationship issues:
1. Lack of Trust: The discovery of infidelity through a loyalty test indicates the marriage was already having a fundamental problem of trust issues.
2. Communication Breakdown: Although they acted lovey-dovey, the couple’s inability to openly discuss their concerns and suspicions privately reflects a lack of effective communication. Openly showing this infidelity may permanently damage the marriage.
3. Infidelity: The wife’s infidelity with another man, resulting in four (4) children, shows that must entered this marriage with a man she didn’t love nor respect. She also completely dishoured her husband and children and was clearly not committed to the relationship.
4. Secrecy and Deception: Her reluctance to exchange phones and body language were telltale signs of secrecy. Her claim to privacy exposed her deception. Marriage should be open because without openness there’s no trust. Then saving the number of her secret lover as Joy was the height of deception.
5. Parental Betrayal: How would her children react when they discover that they are not be biologically related to their father? This raises question of parental betrayal and it has the potential to impact the family dynamics.
What Are The Solutions?
This is a bad case of betrayal but there might be solutions. Find out!
